Victory: Photography Project — 18

“No one appreciates the very special genius of your conversation as the dog does.” ~Chritopher Morley

Beginning in January of this year, I began a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory!  I will continue to share this project on the blog!  I have also been documenting Victory’s milestones so to speak each month — you can read these here!  I think that it is fun to document all of Victory’s changes, while preserving fleeting moments and memories.

As I have mentioned before, our little Victory loves larger dogs!  Below she is pictured at the dog park in the “Large Dog” section trying to get closer to sniff the a larger dog, a mastiff dalmatian mix breed.  So far, the “Large Dog” section of the dog park is working out well, less incidents of ‘humping,’ which occurred frequently with the smaller dogs!

Happy Wednesday!

“Dogs are our link to paradise.  They don’t know evil … or jealousy … or discontent.  To sit with a dog on a hillside on a glorious afternoon is to be back in Eden, where doing nothing was not boring … it was peace.  ~Milan Kundera

On Sundays, Doug makes us a nice breakfast/brunch.  Usually, he makes us malted waffles, pancakes, crepes, or scones with fresh fruit and homemade whip cream!  (Then, we all have to go to the gym and take Victory for a walk outside!)  Victory also likes to be a part of our Sunday breakfast/brunch.  As such, she gets some vanilla yogurt in a bowl!  She loves vanilla yogurt!  We sometimes mix in fruit baby food with her yogurt.  After she is done eating her yogurt, she comes over to each of us looking for us to give her small pieces of waffle, pancakes, and crepes!  We know that we spoil our little Victory, but we would not have it any other way!

Happy Thursday!

“The dog is a gentleman; I hope to go to his heaven not man’s.” ~Mark Twain

Beginning in January of this year, I began a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory! I will continue to share this project on the blog!  I have also been documenting Victory’s milestones so to speak each month — you can read these here! Victory loves the dog park, and I think that she has more fun each time we go together!  As you can see below, Victory had her ‘first kiss’ at the dog park (with a boy)!  When we were ready to leave, Victory was not ready to go home, even though it was nearly dusk!  As such, she refused to move, so we put her leash on her to get her to move!

Before the rain last night, we took Victory with us to get subs for dinner!  She loved going in the car for an outing!  On the way home, she had her front paws perched up on the side of the car looking out the window.  I have nice little nose markings on the car windows!  Victory can recognize our neighborhood from afar and she gets extremely excited!  (I, unfortunately, did not have my camera to capture her!  It was really cute).  Then, I took her out for a four mile walk in her Hound About, and she poked her head through her sun roof of her Hound About many times during our walk together!  I am sure we will take her for an outing this weekend as the weather should be nice!

In other news, earlier this week, our little Victory ‘graduated’ from Level I Dog Training!  We are so proud of her.  Her confidence has improved and she really enjoyed the training and all the chicken that went along with her training class!

Happy Friday!

Victory loves her Hound About!  Since we have been having nicer and warmer weather, we have been going on more walks outside.  Recently, while on a long ride around the neighborhood, Victory was all smiles and she looked especially beautiful after a recent bath!  Recently, on walk, all on her own, Victory poked her head through the sunroof of her Hound About, shown below!  It was absolutely adorable!  She made my heart melt and I am glad that I had my camera to capture her!  You can see more of Victory in her Hound About here!  We are supposed to have some nice weather this weekend, so I am sure that we will take Victory for a spin in her Hound About and make a trip to the dog park!  We took Victory to the dog park last night and she seems to prefer being with the larger dogs — she sniffed and played with the large dogs — her confidence is growing!

Happy Friday!

Recently, we took Victory to Worthington Dog Park, where she has begun to run and she is beginning to learn to play fetch!  Victory loves meeting new doggie friends at the park!  She is really blossoming and coming into her own!  We are really proud of the progress Victory continues to make and she continues to do well in her training class, with a few more weeks to go!

Happy Thursday!

“All his life he tried to be a good person.  Many times, however, he failed.  For after all, he was only human.  He wasn’t a dog.” ~Charles Shultz

We recently took Victory to Home Depot to get some items for the house!  Since Home Depot is dog friendly, we decided to take Victory along with us!  She was such a good puppy — she loved Home Depot and she smiled from ear to ear!  She also seems to fancy herself with lumber, pictured below, similar to little Biscuit who also loved lumber and Home Depot (and Lowes)!  I am sure that there will be many trips to Home Depot in our future with our little Victory!

Happy Wednesday!

“Heaven goes by favor, you would stay out and your dog would stay in.” ~Mark Twain

Recently, we took Victory to Worthington Dog Park, another dog park, which we joined!  Little Victory had a great time, other than being immediately greeted by Cheese, the male Pomeranian shown below, who got a little too friendly with our Victory!  Although, Victory did not seem to mind!  (Cheese’s sister is shown below taking a few sniffs!)  Victory does enjoy meeting new furry friends and her confidence is building.  Tomorrow is our first training class with Victory!  We are excited to see how Victory does during class!  We really hope spring comes soon so we can do more outside activities together!

Happy Monday!

“If you want loyalty, get a dog.  If you want loyalty and attention, get a smart dog.” ~Grant Fairly

We recently took Victory to Quiet Waters Park located in Annapolis — our first trip to a dog park with Victory!  Victory had a blast and she was all smiles!  (Prior to taking Victory to the dog park, we were not sure how she would react!)  Victory entered the dog park and she was immediately greeted with many different dogs to sniff!  We finished our trip to Quiet Waters by walking down to the water!  Victory loves to look at the water and she did not want to leave!

During our time at the dog park, Victory met another sheltie fiend named Joey!  Victory instantly recognized Joey as a shelite and she followed him all over the park!  It was adorable!  (Interestingly, Biscuit also met a sheltie friend when we took Biscuit to Quiet Waters Park for the first time last spring).

“They motivate us to play, be affectionate, seek adventure and be loyal.” ~Tom Hayden

Little Victory does not like baths!  Below are a few photographs from a recent bath we gave her.  Doug and I do not trust anyone else to bathe our Victory!  We are protective of her!    However, we do let the vet clip her nails and trim her paws every four to six weeks!   Victory, thankfully, lets me brush her daily to keep her coat looking good!  We typically bathe Victory every four to six weeks, and we use Espree oatmeal shampoo and luxury conditioner.   In between baths, we use baby powder behind her ears, where her fur tends to get a little greasy.

As you can see below, Victory tries her best to escape the soaker tub!  During our recent bath, Victory was an escape artist — she hopped out of the tub during this bath!  It literally takes the two of us to give her a bath!  One to hold her and one to wash her!  Doug is going to look into getting an extension to our tub faucet, similar to a shower head, to help make bath time go more quickly!  Victory always feels so soft and smooth and she always looks gorgeous — especially after a bath!

Happy Spring!

As you know, I recently photographed Victory in our guest room among the menagerie of our “friends” (stuffed cheetahs and pandas)!  Below are some final images!  Victory loved sniffing all of the “friends.”  In some of the photographs, Victory blends in with the “friends” even playing some “hide and seek!”  Enjoy!

Happy Friday!
