I am not sure where the month of December went, as it is drawing to a close. It is hard to believe Christmas is just five days away! I finally finished and mailed my Holiday cards this morning! My Holiday cards were mailed a little later than usual, but hopefully everyone, including those on the west coast, will receive their Holiday cards in time for Christmas! (We recently had a few mishaps receiving our mail, including receiving our completed Holiday card).
I love making photo cards, and here is a sneak peek at this year’s Holiday card in the envelope! You will have to wait to see the actual Holiday card when you receive it in the mail! Of course, our little Biscuit is the hallmark of our Holiday card this year as well as last year! Happy Holidays!
Biscuit is doing well and he is ready for Christmas travels! Below is a photograph of Biscuit as he was waking up from a nap on his Orvis bed! He kept me company as I finished up our cards!
Happy Thursday!

We took Biscuit to the Harbor this week to visit Santa for the first time! Fortunately, this Santa also takes requests from furry family members! Biscuit was such a good boy and he loved walking to the Harbor – so many new smells! (Biscuit’s endurance is improving as he is able to walk a bit further than when we first met Biscuit). Biscuit pranced as he walked – he is always up for a new adventure. Biscuit even let me put on his tartan antlers while visiting Santa! He is such a good boy!
On a positive note, we found out this week from the vet that Biscuit does not have thyroid disease. As a result, we will continue to do his senior blood work every three months to monitor all of his levels closely.
Happy Friday!
I have spent the past six months or so creating and working on my website for Katherine Carver Photography. I have never created a website before; however, the people at Livebooks have helped me to create a simple and clean-looking website keeping the focus on each image. Also, Sharon Bruno helped me to create my logo that appears on my website (and this blog). It has definitely been a long process and I have learned a lot along the way, and I hope to continue to learn.
Deborah Samuel, fine art photographer and author of Dog and Pup, has been very helpful to me in providing me with feedback on my work and website. Deborah has been very generous with her time, and I am most grateful.
I have spent quite a bit of time editing, creating, and working on each individual image, and I believe that my portfolios are taking shape and my website is coming together. Photography is not static; I hope to continue to grow and create thought provoking images and see where it leads.

Recently we took Biscuit with us to visit the Sheltie Haven Sheltie Rescue, Inc. This is the rescue organization where we adopted Biscuit. We have never been surrounded by so many sheltie friends!
Biscuit had a good time — once he knew that he was going home with us. Below are a few photographs of some very handsome shelties that are in need of furever homes!

A few months ago we found out that Benji was sick with cancer, that had progressed. Benji is a very special sheltie. Benji was the inspiration for rescuing our little Biscuit. Without Benji coming into our lives, we would not have rescued Biscuit.
He was always in a good mood. Benji always had a smile on his face and he was always up for going on a walk, going for a ride in the car, and eating some popcorn, for example.
This past weekend we took Biscuit with us to say our final goodbye to Benji. It was very difficult to say our final goodbyes to Benji, as we cannot imagine him not being here. When we last saw Benji, he was excited to see us and he had a huge smile on his face, the way that we will always remember him. Benji has left a permanent paw print on our hearts. We are so thankful for meeting this wonderful furry friend who captured our hearts.
