Victory: Photography Project — 70

Beginning in January 2014, I started a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory!  I will continue to share this project on the blog this year!  My goal is to document all of Victory’s changes, while preserving fleeting moments and memories, while capturing moments of our everyday.

This past weekend we went to Newark, Delaware to celebrate our birthdays, which are only a day apart!  Before leaving for Delaware, we gave Victory a bath, to her dismay, but her fur feels so smooth and luscious!  She keeps growing her little sheltie furs, which we hope continue to grow!  The weather was gorgeous and Victory had fun walking around the University of Delaware’s campus!  We are very grateful for our fur girl!  A few photos from this weekend are shown below!

Happy Wednesday!

Beginning in January 2014, I started a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory!  I will continue to share this project on the blog this year!  My goal is to document all of Victory’s changes, while preserving fleeting moments and memories, while capturing moments of our everyday.

My parents came to visit recently and we had a really nice time together and we also celebrated three birthdays — all within four days of each other!  We went to the Eastern Shore together, and we took Nick and Victory to the dog beach.  It was very crowded as compared to the last time we recently visited the beach on the Eastern Shore.  Victory still dipped her paws in the water; however, Nick really did not care for the water!  As you can see below, he is running from the waves!  After the beach, we celebrated our birthdays by going to pick crabs!  The weather was beautiful all weekend!  We spent evenings on the deck together; and I baked a cake and Doug cooked a special birthday dinner for my Dad’s birthday, and it was delicious!

Victory was even nice enough to share her Hound About with Nick so we could take some long walks in the neighborhood together!  They got along well, and Nick is getting his own Hound About, the red one, later this month, as his little legs tire easily on longer walks.  Victory had a great time and she got lots of treats and love from her Grandma and Grandpa!

Below are some images from my parents’ recent visit!

We hope that you have a great weekend.  The weather is supposed to be beautiful here this weekend and we plan to go to Delaware with our fur girl as we soak up the last weekends of the summer!

Happy Friday!

Over the weekend we went back to the Eastern Shore!  We had a great time and the weather was fantastic!  Doug had some crabs and he picked them very thoroughly, and I had shrimp!  Later on, we went to the beach, the portion that permits furry family members, and we made it just in time to watch the sun set!  We plan to head back to the Eastern Shore this coming weekend with my parents (and Nick) while they are here visiting!

Below are a few images from this past weekend!

Happy Tuesday!

A Family Reunion?

When we adopted Victory in the fall of 2013, Victory was one of many shelties living in a horrible hoarding house on the western side of Michigan.  Soon after, we discovered Chrissy, a sheltie who was also a victim of the horrible hoarding situation.  You can read and view further information about the hoarding situation here, here, here, and here.

After we adopted Victory,  we saw that Chrissy was up for adoption through the Michigan Sheltie Rescue, and Doug and I believe that Victory and Chrissy are related as they have a striking resemblance — just look at the unique coloring with a hint of Blue Merle; the snout shape; and the similar nose and ears!  Perhaps Chrissy is Victory’s sister, auntie, or cousin?  What do you think?

In the photos below, Chrissy is shown on the left, which was taken on her first night in her furever home; and Victory is shown on the right while she was in her foster home taken shortly before we met and adopted Victory.  (Both images were taken approximately at the time of adoption).

I recently contacted the Michigan Sheltie Rescue who put me in contact with Chrissy’s parents.  We discovered that Chrissy lives in Ohio, not too far from my parents who live in Michigan.  Our plan is to coordinate a reunion for the two fur girls the next time we travel to Michigan to visit family!  At that time, I will take some photographs of the two girls together, and it will be wonderful to witness both of their wonderful transformations!  We can’t wait to meet Chrissy!

We hope that you have a great weekend!  We are headed back to the Eastern Shore this weekend with Victory!  It should be a fun and beautiful weekend!

This past weekend we went to Newark, Delaware.  We had a great time and the weather was gorgeous!  While in Delaware, I also photographed a sheltie for my long-term photo project.  Below are three shelties together — Blu, Coco, and Victory taken at the University of Delaware!  Victory did really well and she liked meeting other sheltie gals!  Victory was not as outgoing as Coco and Blu who enjoy playing fetch, but she enjoyed watching and observing!  Maybe Victory is more of an introvert, if there is such a term in dog land!  After the photo shoot, we all had dinner together along with the three shelties and all the shelties did really well at the restaurant!

Additionally, here is a link to view three other shelties together!

Victory had a good weekend and the weather was very nice!  We are all enjoying the summer weekends! Victory got a bath, to her dismay, and she is looking great!  Doug grilled steak this weekend and, of course, little Victory had to try some.  She was in heaven — a big fan of steak tenderloin!  After eating dinner on the deck, she did not want to come into the house.  So, I got my camera and captured a few shots of Victory as the sun was setting, shown below.

We find out this week, hopefully, whether her infection is gone, which we really hope that it is gone for good this time!

Happy Tuesday!

Victory had a good, long weekend!  She did well  — and she even didn’t run upstairs when we had friends over.  However, she did make sure to sit right near us, though, never leaving our side, while were friends over.  Doug grilled some of the best hamburgers and corn on the cob that I have ever had on the Big Green Egg!  Doug grilled several times over the weekend; went to the pool a few times; caught up on our reading; and we also watched a few movies!  It was nice to have some down time with no schedule.

The images below show Victory a year apart, each taken on the Fourth of July!  2015 is on the left; and 2014 is on the right!  (At that time last year, Victory had been with us for approximately nine months.)  You can see how much she has physically changed in only a year!  She is now full of fur!  Victory chewed through the bandanna from last year, which was Biscuit’s, so we had to get her a new one!  Now we know not to leave anything on her without one of us being home.

Victory: Photography Project — 64

Beginning in January 2014, I started a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory!  I will continue to share this project on the blog this year!  My goal is to document all of Victory’s changes, while preserving fleeting moments and memories, while capturing moments of our everyday.

On Sunday, Doug and Victory came with me to a photo shoot in Annapolis, and then we went to Kent Island for crabs.  We found a place to eat where we could take Victory along with us!  Doug enjoys picking and eating crabs.  I am not too fond of crabs, but I had some good shrimp instead!  Victory was a really good girl and she was very patient while Doug worked through all of his crabs!  Everyone at the restaurant loved our fur girl!

After eating lunch, we went to the Eastern Shore and had a great time together!  Little Victory did not get her nap, as we were gone all day, so she was quite tired by the time we made it home where we found her on the sofa all sprawled out!  She got lots of good walks in, though!

We (hopefully) find out in about two weeks whether Victory’s infection is gone.  We sure hope it’s gone as she finishes up her antibiotic at the end of this week.  Who ever knew that a UTI could be so tricky.  On another note, Victory is starting to bark more, but her barking is only limited to ‘night-night’ one of her favorite times!

Below are a few images from our time together this past Sunday!  We are thrilled that it is officially summer!

Happy Tuesday!

Doug made it home safely from Europe and brought Victory a special German toy, made by Karlie, which we named, the ‘monkey man!’  He wanted to find something unique for Victory that we could not purchase at home.  Victory loves her new ‘monkey man’ as it incorporates woven rope, which she loves to chew!  Each week, when I wash her blankets in her ‘hut,’ I am amazed to see all the ‘work’ she has completed on her toys.  Plus, she loves to hoard her many toys in her ‘hut!’  Some images are shown below!

Victory also had a good Father’s Day celebrating her Daddy!  Doug made waffles with fresh strawberries and we ate brunch on the deck together.  Victory loves to be outside on the deck and she loves eating sampling of whatever we are eating — she loves waffles!  We spent the day together, we went to the pool, and Doug grilled for dinner and Doug, of course, made Victory a mini hamburger, and she sat intently and patiently waiting for more hamburger!

Here is Victory with her gifts before Doug opened them!

Happy Monday!

Victory: Photography Project — 62

Beginning in January 2014, I started a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory!  I will continue to share this project on the blog this year!  My goal is to document all of Victory’s changes, while preserving fleeting moments and memories, while capturing moments of our everyday.

We gave Victory a bath this weekend, which is not her favorite activity, to get her all cleaned up, before Doug left for his work trip.  She feels great — her fur is silky smooth!  Victory started her third round of antibiotics this weekend, and she appears to be keeping it down ok.  She is on this antibiotic for three weeks, and we really hope that it clears up her infection.  Otherwise, Victory is doing well and she, along with us, is ready for a little cooler temperatures!

Below are some images of our beautiful and serene fur girl from this weekend!

Happy Monday!
