Victory: Photography Project — 90

Beginning in January 2014, I started a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory!  I will continue to share this project on the blog this year!  My goal is to document all of Victory’s changes, while preserving fleeting moments and memories, while capturing moments of our everyday.

Happy Tuesday!  I saw a post on Instagram that said, “this feels like the Monday-est Tuesday ever!”  We hope that you had a lovely long weekend!  Doug and I, along with Victory, went to Delaware and Pennsylvania, the Brandywine Valley, for the long weekend!  The weather and temperatures were great!  We enjoyed a low-key, relaxed weekend together.

We went to the Iron Hill Brewery a few times for dinner, and Victory enjoyed going to dinner with us!  (We wish there was an Iron Hill closer to us, as it is one of our favorite restaurants!)  While away, Doug and I got hooked on Marcella, a really good murder mystery series!

We took Victory to a vineyard with us, shown below, where she was a hit!  We also took Victory to the Plymouth Meeting Orvis store, shown below, where we previously took her brother Biscuit!  Needless to say, Victory is recovering from her long weekend away, as she did not get her daily, standard 16 hours of sleep!  We had a great time together, and it was really nice to get away for a few days!  We hope that you had a great 4th of July weekend!

Happy Tuesday!

Happy Summer!  We hope that you had a lovely weekend!  It was beautiful, gorgeous weather here!  Doug enjoyed a really nice Father’s Day — his third Father’s Day with our fur girl, Victory!  For Father’s Day, we went to Andy Nelson’s for dinner, a favorite of Doug’s, followed by Rita’s for ice cream, which Victory also loved!  We had a great weekend together!

Little Victory has good taste and she gave her Daddy some nice Father’s Day gifts, pictured below: a custom Lionel train car featuring Doug and Victory; Duke Cannon shave cream and soap; a new bourbon; a custom photo mug featuring Doug and Victory (a yearly tradition); and a custom key chain featuring Doug and Victory.  Doug was very surprised and pleased!  A few photographs from our weekend are shown below!

Happy Monday!

Moments: Victory

We love our little fur girl, Victory, so very much!  It is difficult to believe that we have already celebrated two birthdays with our Victory.  The time is going by really quickly!  I thought that I would capture some moments here, on the blog, about our fur girl!

I love waking up with Victory in the morning with her furry head abutting  mine.

I love having a little furry friend waiting for me to finish showering so she can potty and have her breakfast!

I love how Victory loves to play each night before ‘night-night’ as she jumps around making growling noises, along with an occasional bark!

I love how Victory love her Daddy — giving him kisses in the same place on his face each night before bed!

I love taking long walks with Victory in her Hound About, which she loves!

I love how Victory is always laying at my feet as I work through the final portion of this long-term photography project!

I love ‘Waffle Cone Wednesday’ at TCBY with Victory!

I love how Victory is always up for an adventure!

I love how Victory travels with us, as our trips and vacations would never be the same!

I love how we are able to take Victory with us out to dinner during warmer months!

I love how Victory looks adorable in her Ergo, which she loves!

I love how Victory is so loyal and is always by my side, especially, when I am feeling sick.

I love how Victory loves routines, as do I!

I love how Victory is always promptly at the dinning room table waiting for some ‘human food,’ while kindly nudging me for more food with her snout!

I love how Victory loves to eat popcorn, and she has gotten so particular that she refuses to eat plain air-popped popcorn — she wants it to have cheese sprinkled on it — such discerning taste!

Most of all, I love how Victory is an integral family member.  We cannot imagine our lives without her.  What we give her, she returns one-hundred fold!  We are also the lucky ones!

Happy Friday!

This past weekend, we took Victory to Pups in the Park!  Fortunately, the rain stopped, and the sun came out prior to the game starting!  Despite it being a little chilly outside, we had a great time together again this year, like we did  last year!  Victory had a fun time, although we did not see any sheltie friends this year, like we did last year.

Happy Monday!

We hope that you had a nice weekend/Mother’s Day!  We had a nice weekend, and enjoyed nicer weather, a nice change from the rain!  We finished up all of our gardening and planting as well as finishing setting up our decks, which we enjoy using.  In honor of Mother’s Day, Doug made us homemade buttermilk pancakes with fresh strawberries and homemade whip cream, which we ate with Victory on our deck!  It was very tasty, and Victory loved them, too!  Victory and Doug also gave me a new jacket, which I love!  Below are some images of our finished deck along with our fur girl, Victory, who really enjoys lounging and napping on her deck in her outdoor bed, similar to this!

Happy Monday!

Over the past weekend, we all went to Keeneland, a place that Doug has been wanting to visit for a while.  On the way to Keeneland, we stopped at Woodford Reserve, a local distillery.  Doug’s Mom also joined us on our visit to Keeneland.  We had gorgeous weather and Victory was a hit!  You can even see Victory making her picks, below!  Doug even made a little money on a race!  A few images from our time in Keeneland are shown below, and we hope to return next year!

Happy Wednesday!

Victory: 2.5 Years In

“Our prime purpose in life is to help others.  And if you can’t help them, at least don’t hurt them.” –Dali Lama

Today marks two and a half years with our fur girl, Victory!  We can hardly believe how fast our time together is passing.  We had our Biscuit for exactly two and a half years, so this mark in time is significant for us.

Reflecting on our time together, Victory has made so much progress since we first met her and adopted our sweet girl.  You can see how much she has changed even since one year after her adoption, shown  below.  In addition to positive physical changes, Victory is more out going with us; however, she often still does not show this side to others because she gets nervous.  She has vocal cords!  One morning, recently, she showed us her high-pitched bark, which reverberated throughout the house, while I was brushing out her fur coat!  She loves to play with us right before bed, and she is quite agile.  She runs and jumps all over the bed and tries to put our hands and fingers in her mouth, a favorite pastime!  She loves her night-time tummy massages before bed, while laying on my pillows, and she loves to get them on the weekend mornings, too!

Most of all, Victory gives us so much love.  I have not been feeling well recently, and, in addition to Doug, Victory has stayed right by my side, never wavering.  We look forward to our trips together with our fur girl this year!  We try never to take our time together for granted.  Most of all, we are very happy Victory is healthy and happy!  We feel so grateful.

Pictured below is Victory two and a half years since her adoption!

We hope that you had a nice Easter!  The Easter Bunny visited Victory and gave her some toys, of course!  Now she has more toys to hoard!  We gave Victory a bath this weekend and her fur coat feels silky smooth and fluffy!  She looks great and her fur coat continues to grow in!  She is much more fluffy than when we first met Victory.  It is really difficult to believe that next month we will have had our fur girl for 2.5 years!  The time is really flying by quickly.

Happy Monday!

Beginning in January 2014, I started a weekly photography project with my muse, Victory! I will continue to share this project on the blog this year!  My goal is to document all of Victory’s changes, while preserving fleeting moments and memories, while capturing moments of our everyday.

This is Victory just as we were starting our first long walk/ride in the Hound About around our neighborhood this year!  Victory loved it, but she looked a little contemplative, shown below, due to the fact that the builder’s construction workers were working in close proximity!  However, once we got going, she was so happy, popping her head through her little sun roof, like always!  I think we did over a six-mile walk together!  We hope that spring is on its way soon so that we are able to enjoy the outdoors together more!  I think we all have cabin fever!  This week has been particularly nice weather, and we enjoyed a few long walks and dinners together outside!  Hopefully, spring will arrive soon and stay here for good!

Happy Friday and have a great weekend!

Happy Monday!  This is how I am feeling today — tired, which is exemplified by our fur girl, Victory, shown below!  We had a good weekend and the weather was warm and beautiful here!  Yesterday we took Victory on a long walk, about five miles, in her Hound About, which she loved, of course!  Then, we took Victory out to lunch and to the pet store, where she picked out some new treats!  We all hope that spring comes soon!

Wishing you a productive and great day and week!
