A Peaceful Biscuit

Biscuit is doing much better since yesterday’s events with the Comfy Cone.  The t-shirt is working out really well.  Biscuit has not tried to go after his stitches and he is still able to clean himself and get water when he wants to get a drink.  He seems back to his usual self, which is good!  We have the smaller cone ready to go, if needed.

Biscuit’s fur is not up to our usual standards, as we are unable to brush him daily right now.  After his stitches are removed, he will be getting a bath!

Below are a few photographs of our precious little Biscuit!

A peaceful and resting Biscuit!

A resting Biscuit!

A BIG yawn!

Biscuit + Princess

Today, Biscuit ran into his “girlfriend,” Princess, in the neighborhood park, Concert Park.  Princess is also a rescue dog who is twelve years old who lives in our neighborhood.  Biscuit was so excited to see Princess — a belated Valentine’s Day treat!  Princess is the only dog that keeps Biscuit’s attention!  Biscuit was in full attention mode when he first caught a glimpse of Princess — his ears were raised, his tail was wagging, he made his whistling sounds, and he followed Princess everywhere!  They had a ball playing together late this afternoon!  Biscuit always enjoys running into Princess in the neighborhood park.  Below are a couple of photographs taken earlier today.

Biscuit

Biscuit recently posed for the camera, as shown below.  Biscuit is doing well and he enjoyed his Valentine’s Day!  Due to his prescription diet, he received canned prescription food as part of his dinner yesterday, which he greatly enjoyed!  He also received many treats, his kibble, along with some belly rubs!

A neighbor, a wood worker, was gracious enough to make Biscuit a doggie ramp for the one step on the main level of our house, due to Biscuit’s arthritis.  So far, he really likes it!  We are going to get a new piece of  berber carpet (for traction) for his ramp this weekend, and then our neighbor will finish the moldings and complete the permanent doggie  ramp for Biscuit!  Once completed, photos will follow!

A Lazy Saturday for Biscuit

Below are some photographs of Biscuit enjoying himself today on a lazy Saturday afternoon!  He is doing really well.

Photography

Below are some of my favorite quotes concerning photography.  Photography is a very important medium and art form.

“Photography records the gamut of feelings written on the human face, the beauty of the earth and skies that man has inherited, and the wealth and confusion man has created.  It is a major force in explaining man to man.”

Edward Steichen

“Photographs open doors into the past but they also allow a look into the future.”

Sally Mann

“I really believe there are things nobody would see if I didn’t photograph them.”

Diane Arbus

Biscuit – Centerfold

We just received our February 2012 Orvis Dog Book and Biscuit appears again as the centerfold!  (In the centerfold there is a small photograph of what Biscuit looked like at the Sheltie Rescue, prior to being adopted).  Biscuit also appears on the back cover of the February 2012 Orvis Dog Book, in support of rescue dogs in connection with Orvis and the Petfinder.com Foundation.  Please see the photographs below.  We could not be happier!

Biscuit will appear on the March 2012 Spring Orvis Dog Book coming out in about one month!

Jersey and Sophie

Below are a few photographs that I took of my friend’s dogs, Jersey and Sophie!  It was fun photographing these girls!

Nick

Below are some photographs I took of Nick, my parents’ papillon rescue dog.  Nick looks quite serious in this photograph.  He is a “one man” dog and prefers his daddy to anyone else!

Benji + Inspiration

Below is a photograph I took of Benjamin, “Benji.”  We got to know Benji, a Shetland Sheepdog, really well when we moved temporarily into our friends’ house for several months while construction took place on our home to repair structural issues, etc.  While we lived with our friends, we got to know Benji really well.   Benji is a really, really sweet dog, and Benji is the inspiration for why we decided to adopt our little Biscuit!  We are very grateful for Benji!
