Maru – The Active Beagle!

This weekend I had the opportunity to photography my friend’s dog, Maru!  Maru is a twelve-year-old Beagle.  He is a handsome little guy, and he is very active and quick on his feet for his age!  A few of the photographs from Maru’s session are below.

Ten Things Your Dog Would Tell You

I thought that this was a neat post, courtesy of www.positivelypositive.com, which I am reposting below.

1. My life is likely to last ten to fifteen years. Any separation from you will be painful: remember that before you get me.

2. Give me time to understand what you want of me.

3. Place your trust in me—it is crucial to my wellbeing.

4. Do not be angry at me for long, and do not lock me up as punishment.

5. You have your work, your entertainment, and your friends. I only have you.

6. Talk to me sometimes. Even if I don’t understand your words, I understand your voice.

7. Be aware that however you treat me, I will never forget.

8. Remember before you hit me that I have sharp teeth that could easily hurt you, but I choose not to bite you because I love you.

9. Before you scold me for being uncooperative, obstinate, or lazy, ask yourself if something might be bothering me. Perhaps I might not be getting the right food, or I have been out too long, or my heart is getting too old and weak.

10. Take care of me when I get old. You too will grow old. Accompany me on difficult journeys. Never say: “I cannot bear to watch” or “Let it happen in my absence.” Everything is easier for me if you are there—even my death.

Remember that I love you.

Biscuit and the Rain

Below is a photograph of Biscuit after our late afternoon walk in the rain!  Biscuit is doing really well and his ear infection appears to be clearing up.  We will know more next week when we go to the vet.   Biscuit ran into his “girlfriend,” Princess, at the park today at lunch time!  What a surprise for Biscuit!  He was so happy to see her and Princess came running toward Biscuit to say “hello!”

Biscuit, Doug, and I went in his Hound About last night for a long walk.  He really enjoyed himself and he was all smiles!  Biscuit always reminds us to live in the moment.  Biscuit’s smile is priceless.

Smiling Biscuit

Biscuit had a really good weekend.  We went on a long walk yesterday while Biscuit sat in his Hound About!  He was all smiles after his walk in his Hound About!

Biscuit Update

Biscuit is doing well.  The ear culture revealed that Biscuit has a staph ear infection.  He is now on new antibiotic medicine for his ear as well as medicine for soft stools.  The vet said that Biscuit’s ear infection could have put stress on his system.  So, we hope to be done with these medicines by Sunday and have Biscuit feeling even better.  He is still enjoying going for walks outside and giving us his paw for treats (his kibble)!

Happy Wednesday!

Truman and Teddy

Below are some photographs of Truman and Teddy taken this weekend!  Truman and Teddy are great shelties who live in the neighborhood!  Biscuit always enjoys saying “hello” to Truman and Teddy!  Truman is shown first and Teddy, Truman’s nephew, is shown second.

Biscuit Health Update: Biscuit went to the vet last night, and he does have a bacteria and yeast infection in his left ear.  An ear culture was taken and sent to the lab; however, the vet did see bacteria on the slide she reviewed in the office.  The vet sent us home with some antibiotic ear drops to use until the cytology results come back and the vet can best determine what medicine to put Biscuit on to treat the infection.  We should hear from the vet by Monday.  The vet said that Biscuit may have to get an ear flush as well to make sure his eardrum and membrane looks ok before starting the ear medicine.  Biscuit was a very good boy at the vet!  Although, he hates having his ears cleaned and he does not like the antibiotic drops placed into his ears.

We took Biscuit to Federal Hill in his Hound About last night before bed to get some fresh air, and he loved it and was all smiles!
